Lecturers

Philippe Brianceau

Is the Enradin Project Leader at Merck Animal Health located in the New York area. After growing up in Brazil Dr. Brianceau graduated from the veterinary school in Toulouse France, to later on continuing his post-graduation education at Cornell University and Tufts University in the USA. He has joined Schering Plough Animal Health in 2001 and has worked in R&D throughout his career in industry continuing with Intervet and now Merck Animal Health.

   

Fernando Vargas

Veterinarian, with more than 20 years dedicated to the poultry industry, in several areas, such as broiler health and management, breeders and hatchery, nutrition and feed milling. Has worked for some of the major Brazilian poultry companies. Joined MSD/MERCK AH in 2009, as Technical Manager. In 2012, assumed the role of Regional Sales Manager for the South region of Brazil, challenge he held until 2013, when returned to his previous function, as country Technical Manager.

In 2014, was invited to assume the role of Global Technical Director, dedicated to the platforms of Intestinal Health (with the Go Beyond program), and Food Safety.

   

Fabio Nunes

Chemical engineer graduated in Brazil. Currently dedicated to the outsourcing consultancy on the technical optimization arena, management and economics on the poultry processing chain and human resources. He has worked on diverse projects in Latin America, Europe and Asia. Associated Instructor at the Poultry Processing in Spanish at the University of Georgia, USA., since 2009. A regular collaborator for different technical publications in Brazil and abroad frequently invited as speaker to domestic and international poultry events.

   

Pablo Nervi

Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, graduate from “Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata”. Master in Science degree on Animal Health from the “Universidad de Buenos Aires” and postgraduate on Poultry Diseases Modern Diagnostic Techniques from the Nacional Institute for Animal Health, Tsukuba, Japan. Dr. Nervi published works on CAV isolation in Argentina and also on Marek Disease high pathogenic virus isolation. His work had been published in Avian Diseases. Dr. Nervi worked for 15 years as Production Manager in Cabaña Avícola Jorju and since 2 years ago joined the technical –sales team of MSD Animal Health in Argentina.

   

J.J. Jones

Received degrees in Animal Science and Industry as well as International Agriculture from Kansas State University. Joined CFI in September 2014. Enjoyed a career in agricultural communications and marketing. J.J. served as a National FFA Officer, working for the Kansas Beef Council, lead the Agriculture Marketing, Advocacy & Outreach team at the Kansas Department of Agriculture. He has organized and led over 30 international trade missions on behalf of farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas; has facilitated conferences and conventions and presented to groups as small as 5 and as large as 50,000 people.

   

Algis Martinez

Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the “ Universidad de Ciencias Agropecuarias, Bogotá, Colombia 1990”. Pathology and Poultry Production postgraduate from the la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México 1992. Post Ph. D. in Epidemiology and Poultry Pathology from the Universidad de Carolina del Norte 2000. Diplomat from the American College of Poultry Veterinarians, ACPV. More than 300 conferences in more than 40 countries. More than 50 technical and scientific publications. Works with pedigree, grand-grandparents, grandparents, breeders, broiler chickens, hatcheries and slaughtering plants. Responsible for Global Veterinary Services for Cobb.

   

Brian Jordan

Received his B.S. in Agriculture and his Ph.D. in Poultry Science from the University of Georgia. He is now an Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the departments of Poultry Science and Population Health at the University of Georgia, working from his laboratory at the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center Dr. Jordan focuses on vaccination techniques, especially spray vaccination in the hatchery, using infectious bronchitis virus vaccines as his model.

   

Diana Castellanos Chaúd

Doctor in veterinary medicine from the “Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos”, along with a postgraduate in Poultry from the same University. Published research work on “Comparison of the protections against Infectious Bursal Disease stimulated through the spray or the drinking water vaccination of broiler chickens”. Previously worked at San Fernando for 8 years in the Broiler Health Department. Actually Diana is the Hatchery Technical Manager for MSD AH.

   

Juan Francisco Ríos Cambre

Biologist graduated from the “Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila”, postgraduate in Poultry Production by the “UNAM” and in Poultry Pathology by the Deventer Animal Health Institute, Holland. Dedicated to the Poultry Industry since 25 years ago, has developed different positions in diagnostic and technical services at broilers and layer hens production companies in México. Francisco Rios has presented performance and researching papers in domestic and international meetings. For the last 15 years he is Poultry Technical Services Manager at MSD Mexico and also part of the extended Global Technical team of Merck Animal Health.

   

Sergio Jaimes Leguizamon

Doctor in Veterinary Medicine and Zoo-technique from the “Universidad de Tolima in Colombia, during 3 years work as breeders and broilers Technician in Pimpollo S.A., moving after to Elanco Animal Health in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, where he work during 7 years as Territory Manager. Since two years ago, Sergio is working in Rico Pollo S.A.C. in Arequipa, Peru as Poultry Production and Health Manager.

   

Dr. Cesar Jimenez

Has extensive experience in the Colombian poultry industry. He worked as director of technical service "Poultry" Hy line distributors and breeders Ross in Colombia and Ecuador. He served as technical adviser in Santander incubator, handling the lines of layers and broilers based in Bucaramanga. In Friko he served as coordinator of national market responsible for the sale of day-old chicks. He currently serves as Technical Manager broiler chickens BUCANERO, the second largest company in Colombia.
